Most optimiser tools will show you the cost per click (CPC) rate, click rate, and top line analysis on ad copy, position and budget in line with your campaign specifications. It may well be true that for a given keyword and ad copy, the click through rate (CTR) is optimised. But this is only half the story and does not give you the overview you really need to make your campaign a success. Is your on site conversion rate on your site optimised? Possibly not, because taking paid search results in isolation means that a ‘customer’ will click through whether they go on to buy something or not. This is not a fully optimised campaign!
